Joanna Hamara is a French language and mindfulness teacher at Alderwood Academy. She holds a Master's Degree in German Language from the University of Wroclaw, Poland, and studied French at the University of Grenoble, France, earning a Diploma in International Trade. Her career was initially centered around international business, where she worked in the global corporate world and, together with her husband, developed multiple profitable business ventures.
Recognizing the importance of balance and harmony in a fast-paced and stressful environment, Joanna founded the Birdsnest Center two years ago. This center focuses on mindfulness and self-discovery, offering personal development workshops, meditation classes, and promoting new alternative healing methods. Her dedication to supporting individuals in understanding their life purpose and discovering their true gifts aligns with her passion for eco-living and harmony with nature.
At Alderwood Academy, Joanna brings her extensive knowledge and experience into her teaching roles. In her French classes, she imparts not only language skills but also cultural insights, leveraging her deep understanding of European languages and cultures. As a mindfulness instructor, she teaches students how to develop awareness, focus, and emotional regulation through guided meditations, breathing exercises, and practical mindfulness techniques. Her sessions are designed to help students apply these skills in their daily lives, enhancing both their educational experience and personal growth. Joanna's multifaceted teaching approach makes her a valuable asset to the Alderwood Academy community.
